Well, folks, if you were down at Albert College Park last weekend, you’d have seen a great show of heart and determination from our Under-8s. Taking on Home Farm is never an easy task, but our young Glasnevin lads were up for the challenge from the get-go. Boots laced, heads high, and ready to go—it was clear this was going to be a good one.
Â
From the first whistle, you could see all the work they’ve been putting in at training paying off. The lads really brought their A-game to the pitch, trying out the skills they’ve been learning and giving it everything. Home Farm’s a solid team, but our boys stood tall and showed what they’re made of. There were moments of brilliance, and some things to work on, sure—but that’s all part of the journey, isn’t it?
Â
Â
And let me just say, the support on the sidelines was immense. Parents, siblings, and coaches cheering their hearts out—it was like having our own little fan section. The energy was brilliant, and it really gave the boys a boost. If we can keep that going for every game, the lads will be feeling like pros out there!
Â
Â
Now, the standout moment? That came in the second half. We’d conceded a few goals in the first half—could’ve easily knocked the wind out of the team, but not these lads. Oh no, they showed real grit and dug in for the second half. Charlie, in goal, was outstanding—pulling off some great saves and keeping the team in the fight. You could see the pride on the coaches’ faces, and rightly so.
Â
Â
All in all, it was a brilliant effort from the entire squad. Each of them gave their all, and they’ll take away some great experience from this one. We’re incredibly proud of the progress they’re making, and we’re looking forward to seeing them back out there next week, ready to give it another go.

Well done, lads—keep it up!
