While all the talk, quite rightly, has been about our Senior team’s great run in the Leinster Senior League, the growth of our Schoolboy/Schoolgirl section and the positive response to our Football For All programme, last Friday evening saw a very important Diggers’ reunion.
Almost thirty former players, team managers and committee members gathered in the Tolka House to discuss old times, Cup victories and hail the great work carried out by those who continue to carry the flame for this great community club.
Among those enjoying a wonderful night of memories was Gary Reidy – who made the journey all the way from Chicago to be with his old teammates! An annual reunion is now planned and many of those in attendance vowed to catch some Diggers games over the coming months.
